General: I referred various technical research papers on assessment of ground water quality for bore wells of different cities and countries, which are presented in Dissertation Phase-1. Reported work on assessment of ground water quality index is summarized below. Shweta Tyagi, Bhavtosh Sharma, Prashant Singh, Rajendra.
The major causes of water pollution include sewage and other oxygen-demanding wastes, urbanization, agro-chemical wastes, thermal pollution, industrial wastes, nutrient enrichment, acid rain. This paper describes the current groundwater situation and warns that the unsustainable use of groundwater stands to significantly impact a host of hydrological, ecological and other natural resources and services, including freshwater bodies, and aquatic, riparian, transitional, and terrestrial ecosystems. The research efforts can be divided into three groups: application of state-of-the-art groundwater modeling and geographic information system tools to groundwater management in rural areas, field investigations of hydrogeologic properties and groundwater contaminant transport, and the theoretical analysis of the fate of pollutants in highly complex geologic systems.
Key words:-Groundwater quality, Physico chemical characteristics, Hydrological features. I. INTRODUCTION Water is an essential element of nature for the sustenance of life on the planet earth. It is available in the forms as surface water and sub-surface water or groundwater. Surface water is predominantly used for public water supply systems.Read More
Water Contamination Research Papers Water Contamination research papers examine how the pollution of water affects all plants and organisms that live within bodies of water. Water contamination research papers can be custom written on any aspect of this environmental issue that you need.Read More
This special issue of Water brings together ten studies on groundwater contamination and remediation. Common themes include practical techniques for plume identification and delineation, the central role of subsurface processes, the pervasiveness of non-Fickian transport, and the importance of bacterial communities in the broader context of biogeochemistry.Read More

Ground Water. Ground water is the name used to describe water which is stored underground in permeable rocks. The period of storage may be a few weeks or several years depending on the geology. Most groundwater flows and emerges at the ground surface as a spring or within a river.Read More
The number and diversity of potential sources of groundwater contamination make it clear that groundwater contamination will never be totally eliminated everywhere. We can, however, minimize or reduce the impact of many potential sources of contamination to groundwater. There are many different sources that contribute to water pollution.Read More
Groundwater contamination occurs when man-made products such as gasoline, oil, road salts and chemicals get into the groundwater and cause it to become unsafe and unfit for human use. Some of the major sources of these products, called contaminants, are storage tanks, septic systems, hazardous waste sites, landfills, and the widespread use of road salts, fertilizers, pesticides and other.Read More
Groundwater contamination occurs when man-made products such as gasoline, oil, road salts and chemicals get into the groundwater and cause it to become unsafe and unfit for human use. Materials from the land's surface can move through the soil and end up in the groundwater.Read More
Groundwater may be a few weeks or several thousand years old, depending on aquifers structure and thickness. Those university and college students that are looking forward writing a good research proposal on groundwater have to clearly understand the urgency of the chosen topic. We can write a custom research proposal on Groundwater for you!Read More
Pollution Research Paper; Page No.(69-74) GROUNDWATER POLLUTION IN KERALA- A REVIEW V. RAJANI. Abstract. There is growing concern throughout India about the contamination of groundwater as a result of geogenic and human activities. In India, groundwater resources are being utilized for drinking, irrigation and industrial purposes.Read More
